Amazon shipping label crop: a simple guide for sellers

The problem with Amazon label PDFs

Amazon Seller Central produces label PDFs on A4 pages. For Easy Ship and self-ship orders the shipping label usually sits in the upper part of the page, often on the left, with a packing slip or tax invoice below. On a 4x6 thermal printer that full page either prints far too small or gets split across stickers.

Cropping the label block out of the page solves it. You end up with one sharp 4x6 label per order and the packing slip stays out of the way.

Step 1: Get the labels from Seller Central

Open Manage Orders, filter for the orders you are shipping and select them. Use Print shipping label (or Print invoice and label, depending on your account). When the PDF opens, save it to your device rather than printing straight away.

Step 2: Crop with the Amazon setting

Go to the Amazon label cropper and drop the PDF in. The Amazon setting knows the usual Amazon layout and looks for the space between the label and the slip below. Each page appears as a preview with the label framed.

If a frame needs a nudge, tap the preview, drag the edges and switch on Apply to all pages. The change is copied to every page in the batch.

Step 3: Pick options that suit your setup

For a thermal printer, keep 4x6 inch. For an office printer, choose A4 with 2 or 4 labels per sheet. Keep Remove the invoice section on so the packing slip is left out. If you have many products, sorting by SKU makes picking faster.

Step 4: Print

Download the file, open it and print with paper set to 100 x 150 mm, portrait and actual size. Zebra, TSC, Xprinter and Brother printers are all fine. Check that the browser print dialog is not set to fit the page onto A4, which would shrink the label.

Mixing Amazon with other marketplaces

Many sellers ship on Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho on the same day. You can drop all of those PDFs at once. Each page is checked for its marketplace and cropped with the matching setting, and everything comes out as one file that you print in a single go.
